Paramount Beauty Academy has been part of the Portsmouth community since 1945, helping students build the skills, confidence, and professional foundation needed for careers in the beauty industry.
In 1990, the academy was acquired by Joyce and Homer Goddard, whose leadership helped shape Paramount Beauty Academy into the school it is today. With a commitment to hands-on training, professional instruction, and “Excellence in Education,” the academy has continued to prepare students for State Board licensing and future opportunities in cosmetology, esthetics, manicuring, nail technician training, and related beauty fields.

Continuing a Vision for Beauty Education
Joyce and Homer Goddard acquired Paramount Beauty Academy in 1990 and helped guide the school’s continued growth in the Portsmouth community. Before becoming an owner of the academy, Joyce was a successful salon owner and operator, and owning a beauty school was a lifelong dream.
That dream continues today through Joyce’s leadership as the current owner of Paramount Beauty Academy. Her vision remains focused on helping students develop practical skills, professional confidence, and the business knowledge needed to build a future in the beauty industry.

Our Facility
A Professional Learning Environment
Paramount Beauty Academy provides students with a spacious and professional learning environment. The academy includes more than 9,000 square feet of educational space, including classrooms, offices, a reception area, a facial room, and a large clinic area where students can gain practical, hands-on experience.
The facility is air-conditioned, and private areas are available for student interviews, advising, and counseling.
